Form follows function and most the BotMs are sheer eye candy. To know them for what they are is important, to get an idea or two is even better but a lot of them would drag the frames to a crawn for a lot of rigs, and woe to those who do huge complicated bases in MP. Better than it was, but still problematic.
The thing that I find most annoying is seeing something that defies the gravity built into the game. But that's my pet peeve. Makes folks think they just aren't doing things correctly when what they see, in this game, won't work without the cheatiest of cheats.
I feel strongly that official builds of the month should be done with NO dev commands, NO mods, just vanilla, building as it was intended, all mats gathered by the builder. Gravity as it is set in the game. If you can spawn everything in, flatten everything perfectly, use resources you can't actually obtain, it doesn't have much value to players. Want to make something fancier, get to that level. Don't have enough resources, work for them. It's nice we have these fanciful builds but there should be full disclosure and there should be another category for them. The fact the game is EA, devs do not back up mods "officially" makes it even more problematic. Don't get me wrong, I like looking at them but then I like to see cool stuff. It just has no relationship to the Valheim I play which I think it too bad. We are so limited playing vanilla, it's just sad. UncleAcidic said it well. Get with it IG.
My complaint may be somewhat moot by difficulty sliders - but this is now, that will be what it is.
