If you look in the beginning where you always seem to spawn at, there is a stone called Vegsevir Eikthyr. It is next to the stone trophy for Eikthyr and will tell you the closest altars location.

And Eikthyr is generally regarded as so easy that with practice, you can solo him without armor. The idea youre going to smash him with the Stagbreaker is kinda funny.
