Either type in the world seed or upload your world save and you'll be shown a map that will locate many things in your world, merchant included. You can pick and choose what you want revealed as to not spoil and ruin exploration, but it's up to you what you reveal or not.

This was perfect. Thank you. I managed to find the closest one to my spawn point after sailing through a storm and walking around the island. :) I was eyeballing and estimating where it was from the website but it narrowed it down perfectly.
I set a portal at homebase with the name Merchant so I could instantly go back home once I built one by merchant.
