I've seen them with 0 cores and ones with over 20. Some are huge and run you around quite a bit while others are tiny.

First few times in them I'd get a bit lost and thought of the caves in Oblivion where all I wanted after a while was to find the way out. Nice thing in this game is that the doors swing open so you can always tell what direction you came from.
