Leftcoast replied to How to defend from mistlands raids on dedicated server December 16, 2022 @ 8:01:39 pm PST
I defend any event actively. I build no defense at all in survival solo or dedicated. so the mistlands raids after defeating Yagluth are impossible to defend.
they can fly over your moats and eat your stone like candy
and no I cannot turn on cheat commands
anyone have a solution?
Before the event occurs, make sure you have eaten your best food and rested buff anytime (you should always stay on rested in Valheim, your skill increase is doubled if you are rested -> any skill increase). You have enough food after defeating Yagluth anyway to eat every 30 minutes and as you enter Mistlands biome it triples.
As soon as the event occurs eat if the timer is low and leave the base. Fight.
I just made a fence in the plains biome, but more for optical reason. Really It's the easiest way, I tried to defend and build walls the first 500 hours of the game. It turns out this is the easier way.
Look our defense on our server mainbase :D

(was a joke, we have no defense)

If you go this way, everytime you AFK -> logout. (this is important)
PS: Tipp: at some places around our base we constructed some workbench-huts, to avoid the nearest enemy spawn at night. We don't spam these things, but I placed 2-3 in the corners the night spawn was annoying high.

Even in Mistlands we just build some fences:

You would be surprised how very rare you are visited, if you try this method. We all thought it's impossible to live in the plains without any defense. But it really isn't a thing in my opinion.
I am curious how this works, do the mob spawns just get confused pathing around the fence?
My general experience makes me think they would just smash thru the fence, however, I have seen times whey the AI gets confused and doesn't know what to do.
