re: your observation that a little command line box pops up on startup, sounds like you may have a mod installed that is causing a conflict. I have Valheim Plus installed and before the game starts Valheim Plus initiates with a command line box. After a recent update that brought crossplay into Valheim I had a similar problem until I updated the Valheim Plus mod.
