A few days ago I ended a play-through around day 140.
I took it slow through all of the zones learning the game, died a bit, but not too much. Lost a full set of gear landing on the bank of Plains once (which I was then unable to retrieve, leading to more deaths).
But I got past that, re-farmed gear and kept going, pushed into swamps and slowly worked my way up to full iron equipment completely maxed, set up a good farm, made sure I had excellent meals.
Eventually I moved into the mountains and had a rough-go at first. The wolves did get me twice before I learned their attack pattern, after that it was fairly easy going until I got the "you are being hunted message." Again they got me. After that smooth sailing with wolves and drakes and the caves there. But mountain after mountain I searched with the wishbone covering areas completely on foot, even twice, and after 5 mountains, the only thing I found was a silver necklace. (Had the locations of many dragon eggs by this time).
I made a dumb mistake (destroyed a wall piece instead of repairing it) one night as I was being attacked by a good number of things in a far off swamp in a small camp I had. The mistake wasn't the most annoying part, it was really how much preparation I had done and time spent and still had no silver or better gear at that point.
After that I deleted my character with the intention to start over.
That was days several days ago and I haven't had the inclination to start over because I feel that although the seeds undoubtedly vary, the progression and play-through is probably going to feel nearly the same as last time.
Is this a true or can I expect a different feel to game? I enjoyed it, but does it have enough replayability to warrant a second play?
You're asking a subjective question we can't answer for you. There are people who do tons of new character runs doing vega, speed, passive etc play challenges and enjoy themselves. That's them. Others care more about building and exploring on new seeds and seeing the challenges(or not) of seed variations.
Others still yet play with people on a server cluster(base building and resource gathering seeds)
And others still yet in some combinations of above, also play with modded content.
So again, you'll have to decide what matches you.
