The biome does already exist in the game. You can also visit it. It's just a barren wasteland overrun with Surtlings.

It has surtlings, chromatic metal , meteorites, and the ashlands fish.

I think that was the case with my resin. There already was a pile of coal and cores nearby so when it went to drop the 4 loots from the Karve one probably got pushed under the map.
