This is true, and true for a lot of other mods too. They're pretty good at updating though and the wait is usually only a few days. Be wary of increasing inventory size or anything else that can cause problems if it suddenly disappears, or needs to be turned off. I lost a few items when moving to the test server that way. But overall I think the pros outweigh the cons.

I posted my mod list above, and for the record, NONE of those broke at all with any of the Mistlands updates (the big one or the small patches). Some are still unupdated from Oct-Nov 2021, i.e. before the Frost Caves update in early 2022, and they work fine.

For me, the pro of not being worried about waits after patches is preferable to a large mod that does tons of things. Or even if something does break, it's more likely to just be one thing, rather than a whole package. I don't even want a large mod that does tons of things to begin with, even if I could choose to only enable say 2% of it. I prefer smaller, more standalone ones. But I admit that's a matter of taste.
