The same goes for Valheim.

Though I agree on the AI, I feel like most of the time the bosses are not really trying to get me, some of them are a bit too slow, movement wise. Sometimes they get stuck on stuff.

Damage, Health and Attacks wise though, I think they're just fine as they are.
It's a challenge with normal gear, but can be made easier by grinding and prepping more.
Didn't mention anything about cheesing, as i think it's pretty safe to assume that the pillars are meant to be used as cover against the elder's attack. Neither did i say using the dodge mechanic is a bad thing as i use it all the time pretty much. And compared to Elden Ring, valheim's bosses have even less and more obvious attacks, and their AI can be abused for how slow and basic it is. And a lot of attacks that have effects can essentially be ignored with a potion (they have changed Yagluth's fire damage so you can't just sit in it unlike Bonemass's). The only time there's a challenge, is the first time you fight them, and even then given you prepared with making armour and food, as well as a good weapon, which i'd expect most newer players to do as it's natural to try and be prepared for the unknown, but once they do know, apart from a couple scenarios or attacks, the boss fights become trivial. Same with the mass majority of combat.

Improving their AI should help a lot, but simply adding more to them such as attacks, e.g. boulder throw for elder, antler charge for eikythr etc, as well as health stages which change the tempo of the fight, where maybe the elder can walk whilst attacking, bonemass drops pools of highly concentrated acid, lighting strikes happen around eikythr etc. Things like this would just give the fights more depth. And it's nothing over the top either imo.
