With the majority of threads complaining about game mechanics, it usually turns out to be poor gameplay on the players' part, rather than the game mechanics.
Time and time again, I see posts where people complain about "no stamina" yet they neglected to eat proper foods, they neglect keeping rested bonus active, they rush into biomes unprepared and under-geared... They get killed and then come here to complain that the "game killed them", when it was clearly their own fault.
You don't have to like the game, and it's mechanics, but the majority of people who enjoy this game have found it isn't so hard if they just prepare, stay aware, and stay within the areas they are geared up to be in.
Death happens... It's part of the game, but it can very much be kept to a minimum, if you play less-recklessly.
Sadly I feel it's a product of today's society. Too many entitled, impatient, ADHD people.
In a big hurry to be "first" in everything, or beef up their twitch status, etc. Also expecting everything to be overly easy.. which they equate as fun. Which to me personally can tend to make games unchallenging and unfun.
No one wants to have to think, prepare, or strategize.... Just give them a big glowing OP'ed weapon and armor and let them mow through everything like a god. "I want to be awesome and famous on the interwebs!" types.
Not to mention expecting everything to be perfect right away and in their hands now now now.
This is why I stay away from online multiplayer games anymore too. So toxic and chalked full of hackers and cheaters or crazy sob's who will SWAT you. Unrealistic expectations too.
Let's not decide to cut our losses and simply stop playing a game that doesn't meet our expectations and play something else. They scream on the forums in hopes of selfishly getting things changed to what they want. Despite there are more than likely other similar games out there that would suit them.
