Some people have deer as pets, even tho it's rare because if I remember correctly, some states in the US consider deer as wild animals is kinda illegal to adopt them as pet.

There are deer sanctuaries in the US, yes (I've been to one), but anywhere where the wildlife in question is indigenous to the area, it's illegal to have them as pets.

So things like deer, raccoon, skunk, etc. are typically out of the question.
