balancing a game is a thing wich is very very hard, if u dont have a roadmap wich shows were u want to go... I saw a video interview where they said they made it extra difficult on purpose because they plan to balance based on the feedback. They could either go hard and then ease up, or go soft and make it harder. Hard to hit it right in the middle the first time.
look at conan exiles as example, game is out for over 8 years in early access, and, otw they changed it to pvp and more silly one time only event stuff addes shopitems with alot more silly stuff, the makers of conan exiles still havent fixed the spagetticode, wich chauses, lot of laags, still have items in the game not working togehther with new stuff, they add alot more powerneeding stuff, wich chauses even more laaag for the people, they changed the launcher wich clipped away 40% of the players, addes a cheatprotection wich cuts away older OS Users from one day to the next, conan exiles has a very active loving comunity wich mods anything to the game, and the devs dont even pay attention whats, realy important, to the base game, conan exiles in the base is a lame game, but with mods its the best, but every bugfix every update, crushes the mods every time like smacking the people wich love the game in the face...
but still they have things like a little flower which needes way to much ram usage cuz its not rendered down forgotten, a system of all players online work on the same itemlist, and to many can crush the server, major problems in the orignal coding, wich just grew, with all this graphic stuff updates, bugfixing can take monthy and years, conan exiles had 8 years to fix major bugs from the start and havent still done the groundwork of that...
team here is not as strong as the funcom people are, they dont have that much money to do that for years, and sometimes just give things time, to do, the only thing u can say here, is they do to much promisess to early and that can drive a comuntiy toxic..
many people here wich complanin dont know the past alpha and beta game testing, wich had major bugs, realy bugs, all this early access games, are mostly far behind alpha and betatesting, they even after stresstesting, wich mostly means the coding is huge the problems to, and its a balance of what u can do and how long it takes to do ist, sometimes and that is the hardest part, its better to start from the scratsch new from lessons learned, conan exiles can be good, but doing that would probarly destroy the game, entirely, just dont forget devs not only there for bugfixing, they also care what people like and not, and try adding that to the game without loosing focus on theyr groundflow, of how the game had to be... alot of games changed to the bad, because, devs did listen to much to the people not happy with the game, while those wich like the game were playing it, ending in the game got bad for those wich played it, cuz of the people posting and not playing it...
