Most of the player base will be long gone by then. At this point, the updates have broken the game so often that only the die-hard fans will be left to play it.

Sad part is, it's a brilliant concept. Some tweaking and it could have been a joy to play. It was--until they started busting the mechanics of it to force players to play their way instead of just enjoying the fact that creative players will often do unexpected things and developing game breaking updates to punish those players and reducing the sandbox and discovery aspects.

Their day has come and gone and the devs with promises unmet, pardon the pun, missed the boat.

I'm sorry but you apparently don't understand the way mods work. Iron Gate is NOT purposely "breaking the game", trying to "force players to play their way".

Mods are created using the game code available at the time of making the mod... anytime there is a game update, (new code being added to the game, you know... because the game is still in development)), the mods must also be updated to match that code... THAT is why mods "break" each time an update comes out... simple as that.

The devs aren't trying to "punish" anyone. or sabotage modders or anything of the sort... it's just an uncontrollable by-product of game development... Iron Gate literally has no control over that... They allow mods but do not "support" them meaning Iron Gate is not responsible for keeping Player-made mods up-to-date with their game... it is up to each mod-author to update their own mods to match the current game code or else that mod stops working. period.
