Blocking doesn't take any stamina to work. It just drains some, whether you have it or not. Blocking is more closely relate to stagger, which more health makes you more resistant to. 120 health is not that much in the mountains, let alone the plains.

You got caught out in open terrain with the wrong loadout. Your only realistic move would've been to bail. There would've been no way of overcoming this through prowess in the current game. Either the wolf event would need to be tweaked, or silver tier needs an atgeir for engaging wolf packs.
