This page: https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Events describes the *trigger* and *disable* conditions for an event. For example, The Forest is Moving starts happening after the 1st boss is dead and ends once the 2nd boss is killed.

In my playthrough I have killed bosses 1 and 2, so I currently have the "Foul Smell from the Swamp" triggering once in a while, it makes perfect sense since I didn't kill Bonemass.

However, I did kill Mode which should have enabled the Horde event. I was expecting to sometimes get the Swamp event, sometimes the Horde, and sometimes the Troll. So far I've only had many instances of the Swamp and the Troll, never the Horde.

This is what surprised me. I did go through the event that trigger the Horde event but so far I've never seen it.

That's a compilation by fans. Unless the devs come out and clearly state how it works it's up to you to test it. Sit in your castle AFK and watch and see what events trigger for like a week!
