I built my base on a little island with a bridge connection to the land, and I built a wall on the other side of the bridge. The island is fully occupied, and the bridge is too long for the area of the events, so they can't spawn anywhere inside the wall and won't spawn on the far land. Although I must use my old bases as agricultural areas, 'cause there aren't enough space on my island. :D
