I don't see where they were aggressive in their first reply to you. Sometimes one can realize that they made a mistake and admit it.

Edit: I was thinking about replying to the OP's post at first, but then decided against it, as it didn't seem a call for help or tips, nor a whine. I'm now glad in hind sight that I didn't.
