I'm the "OP Isekai guy" in games like this, I like to level up as high as possible and get all the stuff that can be achieved before touching bosses, simply because I can.

the game is rigged so you 'need' to fight the bosses to progress.
the first pick is on the first boss, without that you can't progress to bronze / tin /copper items. The second boss has the key to the crypts where iron is. The third has the locator for silver.
You can avoid this with a lot of hand waving, but that is how the game is designed. Sure, troll dragging will smash bronze without a pick, digging at random in swamps will get you a little iron, knowing where to look and some luck will get you silver, etc. But that is a mix of foreknowledge / looking ahead on the web and luck. Its not meant for you to gear to the max then backtrack to smash the bosses without effort, even if you can do it that way. That said, play like you want to play -- I am simply pointing out the obvious path that the game / devs provided as 'the way to do it'.

That and the fact it is simply not necessary. I just beat bonemass last night still using a fine bow and a lvl 3 iron one handed mace. It was actually really easy.

Run from his poison nova attack, block/parry his arm attack and kill the mobs he spawns asap each time he spawns them. It only took about 5 minutes i used one medium heal pot and poison pot.
