As for the wolves, if the howling doesnt upset you then I find their best use to be a greydwarf farm. Set up a pair of at least one star wolves mating and having their babies fall into a pit in the black forest. And come by and check every so often for massive amounts of loot.

Its more useful being oneself the graydwarf farmer , u lvl up your weapon skills a lot in that way

Actually, you are kind of underestimating the sheer amount of killing those wolves do. While I do other things. As for skills, most of those are 80+, and I mean. If I really wanted to raise another one id just spend some time hitting trees with it.
