The roofs that are currently there are temporary.

If you use the stone pillars, you should be able to support the stone floor 2x2 as roofs. You likely won't even need them in those areas that have temporary roofs.

What's the goal here? You don't want the roofs to rise above the walls? You don't want to use thatch roofs? You want flat roofs and/or ceilings?

I just did not want the roof to be the same size as the building itself as it would look stupid. I took the advice in the prior post and used iron beams to support the roof and used stone everywhere other than the foundry as I would have to raise the entire structure up another block to be high enough for the smelters and it needs ventilation anyway.
