PSU issue, had this happen not long ago, a 12v rail went out (put it on a voltage meter and found it had a short ), if you don't fix it like i diddn't, it'll fry your mobo and CPU, maybe GPU, it killed my mobo,cpu and gpu, doesn't matter the game, every game is different, some run harder on cpu, some on gpu, both hit psu hard and when psu goes, everything goes

before this recent update my pc did not crash on this game. so i dont think its my psu, also it turns out other people have the same issue.
