It was the Raft, I tried using the ladder. I couldn't get on the ladder and I drowned.

If it is to far away for you, eat things that extend your max. stamina.

Otherwise, obviously, don't log out on boats.
If it was just a raft and not a ship with inventory with valuable items inside, forget about it and take your lesson.
