being "immune" or "proof" are seperate conditions that share the same result.

Immunity is a biological status and fits best if aquired by potions and the like.
Proof is physical in nature and absolutely fits as equipment related.

In the end it's not that important if the right term is used. The main goal of descriptions on items is that the player understands what is happening.

In the case of the new armour, it would be better to write the exact percentage of the resistance instead of "slightly resistant, resitant or very resistant". The latter can be misread and or misinterpreted as OP shows.
