Mine is twice that depth but I have jumped into it many times without issue - small damage. This time I hadn't eaten and had taken minor damage from rock throwers across the moat. Jumped across to get the drops... hadn't paid any attention to my health. Still very early in the game - have only beaten the first boss - so a lot to learn.
