i got a cooler solution; add oars for passengers that can only be used when the sail is down or half-mast to reach the same speed as a full sail with tailwind.
this wouldn't work for solo play, obviously. but maybe we should be able to hire a dvergr or two to man our ships and row for us in that case.
thats a cooler solution than simply "remove wind" and gives us some more NPC interaction.
i think dvergrs are currently really under-utilized.
we should be able to spend gold to hire them as guards or ship crewmen so wind has less impact on the player post-plains stage of the game and the increasingly tough invasions become a bit easier to deal with.
maybe we could even have the summoned skeletons be able to row on the longship, but that would make that staff mandatory, which i don't really like since my inventory at late-game is already cluttered enough as it is.
i love building guard towers and such for my base, and while the ballista is a neat idea, its stationary and kind of wobbly in its implementation.
would much prefer to station a few dvergr crossbowmen on top of a tower.
hiring dvergr magi would probably be a bit overpowered and detrimental since they destroy even their own houses with their attacks.
