They are adjusting the health and stamina system a bit, it seems, but I'm not sure how that would help you if you die in a tough spot?

It's a very begrudging statement, but to me it seems pretty in theme. The game is all about good preparation. Have the right tool and/or equipment for the job. Make sure there's a spawn point nearby. Make sure there's a portal or something.

With that said, I've definitely left my stuff out in the middle of nowhere because I sailed a tiny smidgeon too close to a plains biome and a deathsquito came and one shotted me halfway across the world from where I was. It was mainly annoying.
