Vaz, this might be a lil off, but it is another take on what you want to achieve.
I am a minimalist, so I greatly limit how many portals I have. Currently, four, and I could do with three.
As you play, the place you used to visit the most (say, a large plains area with lots of cloudberries) will likely become much less frequented. I would mark this plains portal on the map, with its literal name, and I would rename the connecting one, in my base, to something new. I would then go to a new area, set up a portal there, and start using the one that once led to the cloudberries. Whenever I need more berries, I just rename the portal back to what it was, hop through it to collect them berries, hop back and rename it. If I forget what the name was, I check the map.
The less portals you have, the less space they take up and the easier it is to avoid the annoying walk-by glow. :-)
Might not work well enough for a heavy portal user, but works wonders for me.
