Hmmm, I didn't know that. I'm guessing it follows the same rules as named portals, that if you drop a third no-name portal it will link and the second one will be off?

I always carry mats for a portal on me, and link them to a named portal at my base "exploring". I also have a base portal that is used to connect to many non-base portals; I just change the name to where I want to go, which cuts down my forest of portals to manageable levels. I just put up signs around it with the possible names to remember, but also have their names on map icons I set.
