I think I've delayed this long enough. My tavern is getting somewhere, I got a bit bored by it, I can do more sharp stakes later on.

I think it is time for Moder to say her goodbyes to Valheim. The eggs are in a chest next to her place. I'm doing my internal pep talks, I prepared my gear. I got a portal up on the same ridge a bit away from her spawn rune.

This is my gear:
Lvl 3 wolf hauberk
Lvl 3 wolf shaggy greaves
Lvl 4 iron cap
Lvl 4 troll cape (Hey, it's another four armor!)

Weapons:
Lvl 3 Draugr Fang with poison and needle arrows
Lvl 4 iron sword
Lvl 3 silver shield

Food:
serpent stew
wolf jerky
eyescream

Am I ready? I think I am... or is that the ugly overconfidence again?

Edit: I got a secondary armor set just in case, for, you know... unfortunate accidents.

If you focus on using arrows exclusively:

To help, at the moder altar, dig down at the edge of the alter then carefully around the altar underneath. I say carefully so as to not dig openings(other than your main one) around the edge of the small circular altar so you have a donut shaped area protected from moder's breath etc attacks. dig down enough so her melee aoe sweeps also can't clip through to hit anything under.

Put then a bed, portal etc around the back side of that donut down under there, not at the entrance of your hole. Fitting might be tricky but it can be done. Again make sure its low enough under the altar that she wont clip through and it with her melee attacks.

Make sure your hole is easy enough to jump in and out of.

Next near your hole, build up 3 or so pillars of earth that are about 1 block in size and spaced about 1 block or so apart. This will allow you pillars to duck behind if she does an aerial breath weapon attack or a breath attack on the ground. It will also allow you the ability to get away easier if she starts moving towards you on a ground attack phase.

Wait then until the start of day and then spawn moder and go at it. When she uses her breath attack, dip into the hole (or behind a pillar) then back out(as she'll be landing) and just pelt her with arrows.


If you use the 2 star wolf army method:

Just to be save build the under altar part only before spawning her. You dont need the pillar part. This is just in the super rare case your wolf army method doesn't work.

Have around 15 or more wolves. Its really over kill for 2 stars.

When you spawn moder, watch where her glowing particles start to merge to form her. Position your wolf army at it. She should be spawning on the ground before taking flight (hopefully). If you do this right, the wolves will kill her in just a few seconds. If she gets in the air, you need to move around fast and alot because she'll breath attack and kill the wolves so they need not get hit. Second she lands for the first time, if you've enough wolves alive by then, she'll be dead quick if you move the wolves to her asap.

Most attempts on this method kill her in under 5 seconds on spawn. There are vids on how fast it actually is.



There are a few other methods of course but those tend to be the easier methods folks do with the best risk aversion.

Or as cap said you can just go at it with the bow without much prep too.
