Yes the game features female avatars. It's a fairly sturdy and strong looking female avatar, but definitely female and distinct to the male avatar. Seemed sensible given you're supposed to be a Viking warrior. But if you're looking for a dainty, delicate Barbie type female avatar, you're out of luck.
