It's not god mode unless you tell it to be. It's completely adjustable. If you are one of those players who complain that Valheim is too easy it will fix that too. You can use it to make things harder. Make enemies tougher, make your own hits weaker, decrease your armor rating, increase death penalty, disable map and portals. It works both ways.

I personally haven't touched the combat settings. I could if I wanted to, but I chose not to.
