It would be nice if there could be like level 2 or level 3 biomes.
More resources and more difficult version of enemies would appear in these areas, but they could be further in map so players spawning on starting island don't get asswhooped.
Think about level 3 burial champer in black woods for example they could be more maze like and filled with traps and tougher skeletons or something, but there could be more and better loot.
