It took a long time to get to the point I'm at because I would perform this cycle:

1. play for a while and then get overconfident and go exploring recklessly and then die somewhere remote.
2. Rage quit for a few weeks
3. Come back to the game and realize I would have to relearn some things/gather materials and perform a rescue mission
4. Return to step one and repeat
