4 things every large base needs imo, deep trenches, high walls, wards and work benches that have overlapping circles between them that cover 100% of your base area.

This is my first base i built ever in the game (still on the same map)
We filled out that entire area with workbenches and never have anything spawn, i recommend overlapping each workbenches area for best results.
