one of the cave markings i found made it look like the wolf cults were once human and made the transition to wolf people either by some kind of gift/curse handed out by the cults/their patron or some kind of affliction. i think this one chronicles what happens when those humans try to go back to civilization? with no runes or written word its all speculation ofc
