No need to apologize or feel guilty if you resort to console commands or mods to first learn about a new biome. You paid for a game and can play any way you wish. Even channel content producers will do this if they need to keep things moving and if they can do it you certainly can do it as well. Maybe by the 2nd and even 3rd time playing you've acquired the knowledge and play skills to restore all of the original challenges and by then you might even come here and say you want the game to be even more severe.
