Recent update and not sure if mods are updated. I don't use any myself.

Much has changed in game since then with saves etc so the mods are probably way out of date.

For a "clean" install...
Uninstall mods and mod manager
Uninstall game
Delete install folder manually = this is the only way to remove corrupted/old/mod files totally.
Reinstall game

Check with new character and world. Some mods that give extra space for example can make you lose stuff if you start the save with no mods.

Once you verify game works then add the mods you may want or need for your old saves... again here... not sure if mods are up to date with game,

There is an option in game properties in the beta tab to select the last build to match older mods. This probably wouldn't help since your game is so out of date to start with. But may allow you to get mods working if they have not caught up since the update this week.

Also allow time for game to start an old save it may need to convert the file and it can take a while to load up.
