i like plains too. base built on a (floating)stone is my 2nd favorite type bases. (and you can build a small bridge to jump off. cuz the falling damage is capped at 100. so as long as you have 101+ hp - you can't die).
but plains has deathskitoes. and even though those pests have only 10hp sometimes i get distracted(especially while building) and take unnecessary damage).

but... plains are curently endgame location. meaning by the tie you reach it to build there...you've completed curent content and there is (almost) nothing else too but to build and farm more stuff.
