I would strongly recommend not using the cloud for storing Valheim savegames. For starters if you turn off your system or fully quite Steam before the upload is completed you'll end up with a partial save that might get downloaded and currupt your game next time you play. since character and world data are in different files.

If you just want the game to be backed up it's better and more reliable to just back up the char and world files manually.

This was a huge issue for me when I was traveling and using my laptop to play. The upload speed at my hotel was slow and I hadn't twigged to the fact that steam will over write the save game files with an imcomplete cloud back up. I ended up lossing all the progress I made on my laptop when I finally got home and let steam download the cloud versions of the world I was playing. Only reason I didn't lose everything was because I always make local backups outside of what steam tries to do.

This might have been fixed in a patch since then but I have no desire to waste my time testing it.

A general rule of thumb I live by is to never trust a cloud backup as my only backup. I've seen too many situations where relying on cloud storage has been more trouble/ and cost than it is worth.

YMMV
