As McTec Ind. points out, you can avoid most of the fallout from beating Yagluth by having your base in the meadows. However, there are 3 things that happen as a result of killing Yagluth. They are placed in the spoiler section below:

1. Small groups of 0-star fulings spawn at night in the meadows, black forest and mountains.

2. Seeker raid event: This can happen anywhere except for the meadows, I believe. My main base is an island of Plains biome and I have had the seeker raid event trigger there, but my portal complex is in the meadows and I have not had that particular event trigger there after many hours spent in the area.

3. Gjall raid event: So far as I can tell this raid only happens at bases in the Mistlands biome. If you make ML outposts, I suggest spending little time there or omitting one of the items that is required for the game to call something a "base" and trigger events. I usually omit the fire and just rest elsewhere since there is a portal in all my outposts.

The easiest solution if you don't want to deal with raids at your main base is to find an island and put standing torches (or wards/campfires/workbenches etc) up all over it to prevent monster spawns. You can hide the perimeter ones in shallow water and others in bushes or right next to trees, walls, fences, etc. if you don't like the look of un-lit torches everywhere. Raid events will still trigger but the creatures won't have anywhere to spawn. That is, except for the bat raid..."You Stirred The Cauldron". Apparently they can spawn over the water since they are flying enemies and it's hard to get torches far enough out to stop them from spawning. Just put a roof on any animal pens and don't leave any open windows or doorways into your house and it will stop most problems that the bats can cause. Keeping doors shut and using crystal glass, iron or dvergr grates, or even simple 45 degree wooden X-beams over windows allow light in but keep critters out.

Otherwise, building your base in the Meadows with an earth-wall (raise ground with hoe) is probably the next-best call.
