Yes - for sure there are zero remaining items in any chest slots. When I then destroy it via workbench hammer delete, hear the coin tinkle and what appears quick animation of coins falling in air.

Will re-confirm it wasn't just the audio sound and actually got coins because while I thought I did, will re-check on next chest found.
