The only thing about enemies investigating your presence that I dislike is that if you try to sneak away, they don't just stop at your previous location.. they follow you for a good bit until running back to where they were.

Seems to me that if you sneak away a good 30 yards or so, they should stop at your previous location (where you were making noise), hang around for a minute, then run off.

Unless you make more noise, that is.
