I'm usually playing up close to my character when I'm walking, but the moment I start sailing I zoom out as much as possible to see as much as possible of my environment as I can. And it certainly helps as I've been able to spot leviathans and serpents a long time before I would have noticed them when being close to first person.

Thanks for this response. I usually sail while zommed out. And in this position the center should be shifted a little down, so that there's more view to the front. But I'll check this. Thanks again.
