This happened to me few weeks ago. But only 1 game session progress was lost. i lost 4 hours progress in world but character skills was saved. i found a simple "Work around" so far. to save world in cloudsave simply "Quit" game every hour or so and wait till steam Synchronizes cloudsafe.
