I agree. Then again, I agree that a lot of tweaks and optimisation is required to make the game better. IronGate unfortunately is only made up of two core developers and they created a game they didn't realize would be a huge success. I won't go into the corporate logistics of hiring new staff, but it's not so easy as "let's hire a bunch of developers, and get this thing on the road". Not saying you think this. Just mentioning it generally.

Basically, what I am getting at here, is that most of the game elements have been put in to test a concept, even if those elements aren't tweaked to optimization. Meaning, "Why are pigs able to destroy my longboat?" They shouldn't. "Why does Valheim give me BSOD?" It's because of Unity triggering something in their computer. "Why are Greylings able to destroy my stone walls?" They shouldn't. Etc. Basically, all the "they shouldn't" and "the bugs" are a byproduct of having a framework of a game, but no real substance - so to speak. Now, don't get me wrong, I think Valheim is awesome, but it has no real substance, because most things shouldn't work the way they do now. Have you ever tried punching a stone wall with your bare hands? Yeah, it does damage to you and not the other way around. Yet in Valheim, anyone with fleshy hands can break it.

In short, IronGate need to bring in two groups of people, even for limited term.

1. Figure out what in Unity is causing the BSOD. Yes, this is supposed to be Unity's problem, but IronGate chose to use Unity, so now, it's their problem as well.

2. The Tweakers. These are the people who go into each game element and make everything make sense. Stone walls should not be breakable by most mobs. A troll with a club? Yes it should cause damage. A troll smashing down? Yes too. A Deathsquito stinging a stone wall? No. Boars destroying longboats? Make no sense. Ever seen a wild boar take out a large wooden ship before? It has never been done.

Alas, to end my little rant here, until these tweaks and optimizations happen, as players, we must adapt to a world that make no sense. Boars destroying your longboat? Raise the land with your hoe, and put a nearby hearth with a roof top in place. GreyDwarves punching your stone walls down? Raise the earth and use that as your wall. Etc.

My castle looks terrible, but it does the job fending off most mobs. In the third image, I have piers that extend outward into the sea and doors to protect my karves. On the sides of the docks, I have spikey things near the surface of the water.
