Well, its all up to you really. If you can imagine that you are a neenja or whatever and the blurry character in the right skin tone and hairdo is enough for you, then yes, sure. The vikingisms of the world are not so strong, you can shove them aside mentally and make it so.

Or not. Maybe having the wrong armor, norse lore, longboats, and all that stuff is too much to make it fit. Some people may not be able to get past all that.

One of my characters is a 'drow' (black skin, white hair, weapon master, it works for me), so I got past it :)
