Solo?
Dedicated server?
Private server?

Complaining about lost items and gameplay time here has no use with no additional info.

If it's solo, could be a bug. If it's a dedicated server, perhaps a whipe happened?
If it's a private server, contact the owner of that server to ask why (s)he closed the server.
