yep, there has been a mod to fix this for quite some time, although I rather like not being able to take ingots through the portals. It adds some challenge. Simply use the mod if you don't like it, but in my opinion it is turning on easy mode. Getting that loot back to base without dying takes some skill and some luck. Many gamers these days like easy mode. Chew up the game as fast as possible, spit it out, then on to the next title.
