This was previously the case, you could farm tuna slightly offshore for 4 raw a pop. ... the chance one fish will produce many more fish portions is excellent.. ...
And that's now just a piddly little level 2 fish!
(For those browsing through and don't already know: Level 1 fishes of any type yield 1 raw fish when processed at the Cauldron and each additional level increases the yield by 3 more, all fish types can go up to level 5)
On Topic:
Having actual unique uses for each variety would be nice. Maybe devs can start incorporating that with forthcoming updates.
It feels half done, you cant get the fishing rod (oh my what a difficult recipe that would be to make in the wild: lets see 1x wood + 1x Leathersscraps should about cover it yes?)
I'd say Fine Wood rather than regular. Fish make for some fairly potent recipes during start-game, so delaying their general availability with a fishing rod (as opposed to their by-luck availability by waiting for one to beach itself - which would still be an option, just less speedy and viable) would work better being delayed until you get to the Bronze Age. Also, in-universe, Fine wood would have the flexibility to make a good rod. Regular wood, not so much.
